Just a little news this month….It’s getting busy here on the west
coast of Florida….the weather is perfect and so are the beaches. Been
giggin’ in Italian Restaurants for some reason…the food is great
and the people are just too much fun. Everybody’s on vacation or just ready
to bust loose for the “season” where all the businesses start making
real money…ya know….like northern Michigan in the summer...J.

Winter always seems to be the time to write the new stuff.
I’m currently
working on a video based on one of the new tunes. It should be big laughs…I’ll
have my Daughter Lindsey working on it with the help of some “media” folks
at the local University.
I’m working with “El Chino” (Max Kelly),
a Percussionist from Venice Florida who is multi-talented
and uses all sorts of creative tools to enhance my tunes… all
acoustic of course. I always seem to make new shakers to
pass out to the audience… out of say…plastic
practice golf balls or unbreakable Christmas ornaments…The
new one is suited to the aging Floridians. I’ve been
stopping by all the local Pharmacies and obtaining (for free)
any medicine capsules that I fill with steel shot. I place
a label (which looks a lot like a real prescription) with
words like ….this is
a medicinal shaker. Please shake 90 times during a jay webber
tune. For best results mix with copious amounts of alcohol.
A little shlockey but they love it and it gets them involved
in the process….that is…All original
music and having fun.
Anna and her lovely daughter Zoe are down for the Winter
It’s been a real
treat to have their support down here and share the warmth
and sunshine. I hope all is well with those that visit my
page and I promise to bring back a truckload of sea shells
and lasagna when I return up north…or not…All
the best.... J.

There was a whole lotta giggin’ goin’ on….Jay
spent most of the summer writing tunes and floating down
the Platte River. There is nothin’ sooo relaxin’ than
floatin’ the Platte. I was able to visit with my
daughter quite often this summer which is nice since I’m
on the road in the winter. Anyway…check out the
web page and I hope to see ya soon…I’ll be
right around the corner…..really.
p.s. Must thank Rich Brauer of Brauer Productions for the
great movie shoot up on Mackinaw Island. He is one creative
writer/director/movie guy.....I wouldn’t have been
involved were it not for Elizabeth Rivers who so kindly
used my song for the movie….She is such a great
person who just happens to sing like an angel…..Also
Producer/Engineer/Pianist and all around huge talent… Stefan
Kukurugya joined in on the tune which made for a wonderful
day….so keep an eye out for “Mr. Art Critic” coming
soon to a theater near you.
I'm down south right now and will be for awhile. If ya
need anything please contact Anna for any information.....:)
I’m just a little tired after spending the last
five months in and around Austin Texas. I met so many great
people and incredible musicians that I’ll be sure
to return again next year…maybe not for five months,
but at least for a couple weeks. There are too many stories
to share on this page so when we converse at the next show
we’ll have to sit down and discuss Texas in general…It’s
a great State. Check out my links page and visit some
of my Austin friends....K'Cee & Mary, Wild Bill Engle,
Tony, Mark, John Little John, Dan, Mike and all my buddies
at Sydcor the list goes on and on. . .
It’s been Sweet to be back in the northern regions
of Michigan again. Lake Michigan beaches are as scenic
and magnificent as the East Coast, Beaches of California,
Florida Etc….OK, there’s one aspect we’re
lacking on our beaches…CROWDS OF PEOPLE !
It’s like owning your own private beach…Keep
an eye on my schedule for up coming performances…Been
writing a lot of new stuff, so be sure to stop out. Hope
to see you this Summer…..J.

My new CD “Coffee Tunes” will have a few
old tunes and many new tunes to ponder while your affectionately
sipping “Leelanau Coffee” early in the Morning…On
the Beach!!!! J.

Yep...I'm in beautiful Austin Texas.....live music capital
of the universe. Love that hill country...amazing homes
surrounded by amazing scenery. I've been checking out venues,
Frisbee golf courses and historic watering holes. Just
arrived a few days ago, so there's a whole bunch of stops
to make. So, I best get movin'... Visit my page often for
updates on travels and tribulations. . .
P.S. To Sam, Daney, Steel Toe James, Lynne, John and all
my other good friends and great venues in Florida - - sorry
I couldn't make it this winter... Austin was calling....
I hope to see you in the Spring....love y'all.........j

The latest CD "Live at the Ark" was recorded
during my last two concerts in Ann Arbor. The sound is
rough but "hey"….. it’s a live recording.
Sure we coulda spun a little studio magic on the recordings
but that is so wrong on so many levels. I like the tunes
and my band mates added so much to the evening and the
music. Zack Light (Bass) plays on almost all the tunes
(because he’s the best) …Dave Schwartz (Percussion
) adding his creative Djembe jazz kit to many tunes (awesome)….I
stole the hugely talented John Kumjian (vocals, perc, guitar,
piano) on a tune or two….Stephan Kukurugya (piano)
truly adds magic to any band or performer lucky enough
to share a stage with him… Crispin Campbell (cello)
plays on a couple tunes and plays each note from the heart.....jay.
